Chef Kimberly VanKline presents ” A Taste Of Summer”


Last night, I had the pleasure of attending a delicious tasting by celebrity Chef Kimberly VanKline.  The tasting was held at a beautiful rooftop in Chelsea and featured different tapas created by the woman of the hour.  I was also treated to some good bubbly throughout the night.

Chef Kim created some very good samplings, that showcased her skills.  The menu was:

  • Caprese Salad Brochettes – fresh mozzarella, petite heirloom tomatoes, Thai basil, w/ pomegranate reduction
  • Honey citrus sriracha chicken tinga tacos w/ pickled slaw
  • House cured maple lead duck pastrami w/ burnt orange relish & date puree
  • Strawberry ginger gazpacho w/ Cointreau
  • The “Wuban” – roast pork, fresh cured ham, big eye swiss, house made pickles and stone ground mustards on a flat pressed scallion cheddar waffle
  • Red velvet Milkshake shooters w/ red velvet cake rim

My favorites were definitely The “Wuban” & Chicken Tinga Tacos.  The “Wuban” was good and hardy, I can definitely see myself ordering it at a restaurant.  All the items were very good, I did not try the gazpacho but I heard it was good.  Check out the Chef’s website, for more info on her.

*Sigh* why can’t everyday be filled with good food, bubbly, sun, and a beautiful view!!! Oh well!  Cheers!!
