An EVENTFUL Thursday

Yesterday, I had a night out on the town!  It seems like everyone wanted to have an event last night, so I tried to hit up as many as I could and snap a couple of pictures at each of them.

The first event I went to was a Details Magazine event at The Ports 1961 store in the Meatpacking District.  Hosed by Details fashion director Matthew Marden, the event was in honor of The Ports 1961 F/W 2013 collection (yes it already fall).  The party had music by DJ Louie XIV and cocktails by Beluga Vodka (which were pretty yummy).  The overall party was good, it was almost like a shop and sip, drinking and shopping is a VERY dangerous and damaging.

After that, I headed to an event in SoHo, but first I stopped by the MacBar.  No it is not the makeup store, but a restaurant that only serves different types of macaroni.  I got the Lobster Mac, which was delish.  I have been hearing about this place for a while, but it is only in SoHo and since I try to stay away from SoHo, I knew this was the perfect opportunity to do it.  The prices were okay, the mediums ranged from $9-$13 and definitely will fill you up.  It was a little bland and I think I prefer S’Mac over them (if only S’Mac had a Lobster Mac).  I did like it, but I won’t be rushing back anytime soon to get it again.

After my mac, I went to a CMJ aftermath party called “#StayRestless” at a loft in SoHo on Broadway.  The party was to celebrate the launch of “Stay Restless”, a “new online editorial and event series showcasing rapidly emerging talent at the crossroads of music, film, fashion and visual art.”  The event came right at the end of CMJ week, which I believe ended either Tuesday or Wednesday.  Sponsored by Tito’s Vodka, the party had a performance by Teen Commandments and three different DJs spinning.  They also had an interactive art station set up, that allowed people to help paint different murals.  The party was very chill and hipsterish.   I believe it is the start of a monthly party (don’t quote me on that).  You can check out the website here: *update* the site launches Monday, 10/28

Lastly, I went to LES to an event put on my Modelo beer and LTD+ called “L.E.S. is More” at the Hotel on Rivington’s Penthouse.  This party was packed with people and fun activities.  DJ Get Live was spinning, they had an interactive photo booth set up, a full on taco bar, and a station put on by Staple Pigeon were they made custom t-shirts for anyone who wanted them (yes they were free).  The overall event was fun and the penthouse is beautiful with an amazing view.  I really felt like I was a friends penthouse party, very chic and New York.  I tried beer with tomato juice and it was completely gross, I don’t know why I thought I would like it, I hate tomato juice by itself!

Such a busy Thursday, but the best part is, I was back home by 11:30pm.  It was a challenge and I definitely meet it!

Sidenote: what are you doing for Halloween??? I for some reason am not into this year, so I haven’t even looked for a costume yet, but I am sure that will change this weekend.
