Gizmodo/Intel Shooting Challenge Interactive Photography Exhibition

Wednesday, I was able to attend the Gizmodo/Intel Shooting Challenge Interactive Photography Exhibition private opening party which filled with artist and photographers, a lot of fun activities and an open bar.

The exhibition is filled with famed photographers Taylor DavidsonDiana LevineDouglas SondersRyan RussellScott Rinckenberger and Steven Taylor impressive photos.  The photographers were all assigned a location (Austin, Boston, Costa Rica, Miami, Paris, and San Francisco) and were equipped with their photo gear and their Intel-Inspired Ultrabook™..  The photographers were each given a “challenge” once they got to their destination and was responsible for capturing these “challenges” and showing their audience how they went about doing it using their Ultrabook™.  The exhibition is filled with their work from the various cities.

The event was a lot of fun and very interactive.  Booths were set up where attendees could dress up in props and pose with different backgrounds that reflected the cities the different photographers went too.  They also have partnered with the awesome website, InstaDerby.com, to create a more local competition.  InstaDerby, is a site that does weekly photo competitions using people Instagram photos.  All you have to do is use the hashtag of the week and the #instaderby tag, and your picture from Instagram automatically comes up on InstaDerby.com.  People can vote for their favorite pictures and even share your photos.  This week the hash tag is #MyCity and participants are competing for best photos that showcase their city.  The winner will get the chance to win an ultra-sleek Intel-Inspired Ultrabook™.

The exhibition is starts Thursday, November 15th and is running at 329 Broome Street studio, doors open at 11am and close at 6pm. I hope you can make it; it is definitely worth the trip!
