“Two Twenty Five Rector” Viewing

Yesterday, I went to a penthouse unveiling event at the swanky complex “Two Twenty Five Rector” in Downtown Manhattan.  I have never been to an event like this, so it was pretty interesting.

It was put on by the designer Related (the owner of the complex) and designer Jonathan Adler, in collaboration with Observer Media Group.  The  purpose of the party was to view the new furnished (by Jonathan Adler) penthouse and to get people interested in living there.  Most of the people who attended were realtors, high-property management associates, and 6-figures a year people.

The complex is located in the Battery Park section of Manhattan.  It has an amazing view of world trade center, Jersey, and the Hudson. The complex had many amenities (door man, sky-lit pool, gym, rooftop deck, etc) and units are only for sale (sorry renters).  The penthouse view was amazing and for New York it is pretty spacious.  I guess the only thing that has me hung up, is the price, studios starting at $500,000 and the penthouse was a little over $1.5 million.   I always asked myself is it really worth it for a such a small space? I mean the master bedroom (in the 3 bedroom penthouse) couldn’t even fit a king bed comfortably.  But hey, cheers to the high rollers who want to put Manhattan on their mailing address.

If you are a high roller and want to check out the complex you can go here – -> http://www.related.com/225RectorPlace.  If you decide to buy a condo there, make sure I am invited to the house warming (I will bring a fancy bottle of champagne, promise)!  Until next event!
