Bärenjäger Bartender Competition

Last night, I went to a bartender competition!!!! Now you know I was excited for this event! Bärenjäger Honey Liqueur hosted this 3rd annual event by bringing out 6 mixologists from all over the USA to get us New Yorkers drunk! The only rule was they had to use Bärenjäger.
Bärenjäger has two flavors one just a honey liqueur and a honey liqueur and bourbon mix. Though this drink is already great just chilled, these mixers took the drink to another level. Each drink I tasted had a distinct taste and gave the liqueur a whole new feel; they really took this competition seriously. My favorite was the ‘BärenBerry Mule’ by Katie M. Loeb out of Philly. She made a drink with Bärenjäger Honey Liqueur, Rittenhouse 100 Bonded Rye Whiskey, lemon juice, berry-thyme essence, peychaud bitters, reeds extra ginger beer, lemon twist, and blackberry garnish; sounds fancy right? Well it was great! One guy made a spicy drink, not sure how I feel about that, but it looked like a lot of people loved it!
Held at The Tippler in Chelsea, the place was packed and people were definitely enjoying the drinks. You really had to have self-control; there was no limit to how many drinks you could have and they were full size drinks. I am sure someone from this event called in sick this morning. They had finger food floating around prepared by Iron Chef Geoffrey Zakarian to make sure people had some control.
I left early because I didn’t want to be too tempted and I after trying 6 drinks, I think I had enough. To find out who won you can go —> here! I will give you a hint; she was the only lady in the competition.
Until next event xoxo..
