Vol. 1 Brooklyn Presents: The Greatest 3-Minute Movie Stories

Today, I headed to West Village to a venue I am pretty familiar with, called LPR.  My friend told me about a group called Vol. 1 Brooklyn and I saw they were holding an event there, so I decided to check it out.  The event called “The Greatest 3-Minute Movie Stories” was just that, normal people telling stories that was center around cinema.  Some people talked about their favorite childhood movies and how it intertwines with their present life, one person even talked about how when they first moved to Manhattan, the apt they lived in was being used to film a movie.

It was interesting to see these people come up with such great stories.  Most of the speakers were writers and/or works in connection with the filming industry.  A lot of the 3-minute stories were very creative.  Some of the speakers were nervous and some you could tell it was awkward for them to be up there, but over all everything went very well.  As I listen to their stories, I wonder, what kind of story would I tell.  It is such a vague topic, I don’t know if I would have known what to say.

All-in-all I had a great time, some pretty good laughs, and it was a good event.  Definitely an only in New York type of event!

Until next time, besos….
